Therefore, learning acceptance of others with disabilities is important to help children understand that differences are ok and valuable. Dim the lights, get your favorite blanket or sleep buddy and snuggle up for Be Calm on Ahway Island Podcast with a soothing story encouraging empathy.

Here’s an excerpt from today’s bedtime story on acceptance, Magical Chair:

The little wheelchair waited patiently while the boy buckled into the comfy seat. Winfield the wheelchair could tell Brian felt lonely in their new town. The family had just moved in and the little boy missed all his friends. Outside the sun shined brightly on the winding sidewalk. That gave Winfield an idea. Maybe Brian would meet some kids if they explored the neighborhood. Brian’s dad must have understood what Winfield was thinking. He suggested, “Why don’t we go outside for a walk?

Mystery Jug: a calming story with a positive message

Today’s Bedtime Story with a Positive Message: Terry and Charlie truck carefully drive at the edge of the forest.  Charlie gets hot and needs water. What will Terry Truck do to help his friend?

Excerpt from today’s calming bedtime and nap time story with a positive message: Mystery Jug

Warm sunlight filtered through the leaves of the trees at the edge of the woods forming a lacy pattern of light and leaves that covered everything underneath the forest canopy. Terry the truck carefully drove alongside Charlie. As the two trucks drove slowly at the edge of the forest they tried to keep their engines cool. Today, even in the shade, it was hot. Up ahead, Terry noticed a hill causing the little truck to wonder how they would climb it in the heat.

Today’s Meditation: Relax in the grass as you imagine sunlight warming you from head to toe.

Nap Time: a bedtime story and relaxation for kids

Nap Time: a bedtime story and relaxation for kids

Today’s Nap Time Story (EP22): Nap Time: a bedtime story and relaxation for kids

Oceana the otter wants to play while the other otters are napping at nap time. What happens when she wakes them up?

All ages are different when it comes to nap time.  Even adults can benefit from napping.  Your sleep environment can be very important.  Dim the lights, get your favorite blanket or sleep buddy and snuggle up for Be Calm on Ahway Island short stories Podcast.

Here is an excerpt from today’s kids story, Nap Time:

Oceana looked around. No one had noticed. All the otters were still sleeping, but now Oceana really wanted to play. She was tired of waiting. Her collision with Alonzo gave her an idea. She smiled a mischievous grin and dove under the water. Just under the surface, the little otter swam under Alonzo and, ever so gently, pulled him towards Calisto. Before Alonzo ran into Calisto, Oceana swam away to watch. Calisto and Alonzo collided and jumped up. Startled, they looked at each other, realized there was no danger, and went back to sleep. This would not do. Oceana tried again. This time she towed both Calisto and Alonzo into the middle of the group of otters.

Today’s Meditation: We will guide you in a progressive relaxation from your head to your toes.
