Spring Flowers: bedtime story and guided meditation for kids

Today’s Story:

Lalita the lilac is eager to bloom and display her spring flowers. Once her buds open Lalita can share her sweet fragrance with everyone!

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:41
Spring Flowers Story Excerpt:

Lalita smiled.  The rain had provided a lovely drink, and now the sun warmed her cool, wet leaves. She had been working hard to make beautiful flowers and felt refreshed by the gifts from the sky.  The little lilac stretched her branches out into the sunshine, and the drops of rain began to dry off her leaves, leaving Lalita cozy and warm. She enjoyed the bright light and took a deep breath, in and out (deep breath).

Today’s Meditation:

Relax in the grass as you imagine sunlight warming you from head to toe.

Dad to the Rescue:a kid’s bedtime, nap time story and relaxation

Today’s Story

Owen is inspired and begins to write a story but gets stuck. Fortunately, it’s Dad to the rescue! He helps Owen learn the importance of taking a break to feel refreshed.

Dad to the Rescue Story Excerpt:

“How’s it going?” his dad said.
“I’m stuck. I can’t figure out how to start the story.”  Owen said, feeling frustrated.
“You’ve been working pretty hard at this, I think maybe you should take a break.”  Owen’s dad suggested.
“That’s OK, dad. I can do this. I don’t need a break.” Owen said.
“Owen, a break isn’t quitting, it is giving yourself the option to find new ideas by doing something completely different. I take breaks all the time when I am stuck. Then when I come back, I have a fresh new idea. What would you like to do for a break?” his dad asked.
“It looks pretty nice outside. Maybe I’ll play for a bit.” Owen said with a sigh. He still wanted to finish his story.

A Dancing Deer: a kid’s bedtime, nap time story and relaxation

A Dancing Deer: a kid’s bedtime, nap time story and relaxation

Meet Deena, a dancing deer, as she leaps across the meadow. She discovers fresh water to drink and flowers to nibble in her dance through the swaying grass.

The little deer carefully stepped out into the field, watching everything around her.  The green grasses gently rippled with the soft breeze, creating a path to follow.  As Deena began to follow the path, she saw delicate little purple flowers tucked in among the grasses.  They shyly smiled at her, and then disappeared into the grass again as she wandered by. The little deer smiled and walked out a little further into the meadow.  She saw daisies waving and smiling in the warm light, encouraging Deena to join them.  The little deer closed her eyes for a moment and enjoyed the warmth of the sun on her fur.  She sighed, opened her eyes and walked even further into the meadow.

Toy Party: a bedtime story and relaxation for kids

Toy Party: a bedtime story and relaxation for kids

Dylan the firefighter doll feels disappointed he is staying home from the sleepover until Trevor the train invites him to a toy party.

The firefighter doll climbed down from the bed and hopped onto the toy train.  The construction trucks drove forward again. They had filled up with more train tracks.  The trucks began laying tracks down on the floor, heading over to the toy box.  When the construction trucks finished laying the tracks, Trevor started to roll forward, chugga chugga choo choo. And before long, Dylan was at the toy box with all the other toys. It looked to be quite a party.  The toy cars were revving their engines, ready to race.  The books ruffled their pages, eager to tell stories and jokes.  The blocks built themselves into chairs and tables for the stuffed animals and the toy kitchen was busy making food for the big event.

Today’s Meditation:

Imagine floating in a tranquil pool, safe and relaxed, as the water rocks you gently.
