Silly Squirrels: a story and guided meditation for kids

Today’s Story (EP239): Silly Squirrels: a story and guided meditation for kids

Re-Release for #WorldFoodDay!

Nutsy and Peanut Squirrel are silly squirrels looking for breakfast.  They come across Chelsea Chipmunk who is worried she can’t find her stash.  Will the silly squirrels find a way to help?

Today’s Meditation:

Today, notice loving energy flowing through your body, from your feet up to your head.

Today’s Children’s Story Excerpt:

The Silly Squirrels scampered down from their nest, which was high in a big oak tree. They looked around to make sure there was no danger nearby. Peanut looked right while Nutsy looked left. Once they decided it was clear they ran to another tree down the street. At the bottom of the tree they had hidden nuts so they would have them to eat during the winter. Squirrels will spend all summer looking for nuts and then bury them in the ground for winter when nuts are no longer growing on trees.

Today’s Meditation:

Feel your muscles relax as you check in with your body from head to toe.

Dragon Boat Children’s Story Excerpt:

Dragon peeked under the water to see how Manny and Teagan were moving and noticed a propeller underneath them spinning. That was a little like the airplanes. As Dragon watched them move through the water Dragon decided to try to move like Teagan and Manny the motorboat. Dragon began to twirl its tail quickly behind.  Slowly dragon began to move forward.  Dragon giggled, feeling the water tickle its belly.

A Happy Helper: a kid’s nap time story with progressive relaxation

A Happy Helper: a kid’s nap time story with progressive relaxation

Today’s Story (EP57): A Happy Helper: a kid’s bedtime, nap time story with relaxation

Rogelio is a happy helper. When he notices his dad struggling with the housework he jumps up to help.  Together they have fun cleaning up the house!

Today’s Meditation:

We will guide you in a progressive relaxation from your head to your toes.

Here’s an excerpt from this week’s bedtime story:

Rogelio sat on the couch and sighed. He felt bored. Rogelio had asked his friends, Scott and Cathy, if they wanted to play today, but they were busy. Rogelio looked at the stack of books next to the bookcase. He had read them already. He felt like there was nothing to do. Rogelio sighed again, and slouched into the couch. His dad walked, quickly, through the family room, arms full of clothes. As he walked, he dropped a blue sock, and a red t-shirt. Then a pair of pants started to drop out of the pile. Rogelio’s dad stepped on it, pulling the pants the rest of the way out. He stumbled, and as he caught his balance, Rogelio’s dad dropped the rest of the clothes.

Rogelio, eyes wide with surprise, looked at his dad. His dad sighed, and began to pick up the clothes. Rogelio thought, “I think dad could use some help.” got off the couch, and began picking clothes up off the floor.

Children’s story excerpt:

It was a lovely warm day on the island. The sun was shining bright. The plants were showing off their best blooms. And Fernando the peeper frog was thinking of the perfect song to sing to his friend Felicity. He tried a few combinations in his head and decided on a sweet melody. Fernando hopped about on his leaf. He was excited to sing his new song! But, Fernando was shy. He didn’t want to sing his new song when people walked by. He thought, “I’ll sing it after the sun goes down. There will be less people when it gets dark.”
