207. BCAI: Wheee!: a relaxing story and mindful relaxation

Feeling confident on her bike, Max and Mia go out for a ride and find a little hill. How will Mia do?

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Wheee!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Narrator: Male

Final Dragon Breath: 7:01

Wheee! Show Excerpt:

Clouds blanketed the sky, turning it a fluffy grey.  The wind circled the trees, causing the branches to wave and colorful leaves to whirl away.  Max smiled as he felt the breeze tickle his nose and said, “Mia are you ready? Come see this!”

“I’m coming!” Mia said.  She hurried over to Max, her bicycle helmet already on. “Let’s go!” She said.

“Hold on. Look at the trees.”  Max said.

“Wow!” Mia said. “Look at the leaves!”

Max smiled. “I thought you’d like that.”   Reds, golds, orange and browns swirled in the air as the wind carried them away from the trees.  Mia began to dance with the falling leaves, and so did her brother.  Around and around they turned, until the two flopped down on the ground dizzy and giggling.  They laughed until Max asked, “Are you ready to go to the big hill?”

541. Stormy Music: a kids’ meditation and story

Anora and Julia have a sleepover together at Anora’s house. Together they learn that the rain is not so scary after all.

Narrator: Female

Story Begins: 4:15

Stormy Music Excerpt:

Anora jumped off the couch when she heard the doorbell ring. “I’ll get it!” she exclaimed out to her mom as she ran toward the front door. She practically jumped all the way there! When she reached the door, she twisted the doorknob and swung the door wide open, then opened her arms wide to greet her friend with a hug.

“Julia!” exlaimed Anora. “You made it! Hurry and come in!”

Julia hugged Anora back tight, overjoyed to see her friend again. The two girls hadn’t seen each other in a while as Anora had been away for several weeks.  They were so excited to see each other again. The girls had been friends for their whole lives and loved to spend time together, even though Julia was a little older than Anora. Anora didn’t have any siblings, so she felt Julia was like a big sister. And Julia always appreciated how kind Anora was to everyone.

539. Birthday Surprise: a calming meditation and story

Javier tries to give his mom a birthday surprise but things get a little bit messy.

Narrator: Male

Story Begins: 4:30

Birthday Surprise Excerpt:

It was a sunny autumn morning on Ahway Island and Javier was sitting at the kitchen table enjoying some cereal for breakfast.

He was really excited. Today was his mom’s birthday! Javier’s mom had left very early in the morning to go work at the hospital. Javier loved his mom so much. She was always working hard to make sure that people were happy and healthy on Ahway Island. To celebrate her birthday, Javier wanted to do something special for his mom. As he finished his cereal, a brilliant idea popped into his head.

“I know!” he thought. “I’ll blow up some balloons!” Javier always loved the colorful balloons his mom gave him on his birthday and other special occasions. And if it was hot enough outside, Javier and his mom would fill up water balloons!

Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating on a cloud, and relax into the feeling of lightness.

202. BCAI: New Ways: a kids’ relaxation and story

202. BCAI: New Ways: a kids’ relaxation and story

Ian is busy working on a project when his teacher asks him to try doing something differently. How will Ian do?

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “New Ways” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Narrator: Female

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:39

New Ways Show Excerpt:

The classroom was busy as everyone found their seats. As he sat down, Ian checked the magnet schedule on the board to see if it matched the schedule on his desk.  It did.  A worksheet was next.  Mr. Smith handed the papers out and explained what they would need, placing magnets on the board as he said each item.  “OK everyone, Please take out your scissors, glue and markers.”

Ian quickly took out each item, as Mr. Smith put the magnet on the board.  When told to begin, Ian started coloring the pieces of his paper puzzle.  Then, according to the instructions, Ian began cutting each piece out.  Now, it was time to glue.  Ian did not like gluing things.

It was messy and glue always got all over his fingers.  The marker ink got all over his fingers too, once the paper became soggy from the glue. He usually made 2-3 trips to the bathroom to wash his hands. Oh well, Ian thought and began to squeeze glue onto the back of one of the puzzle pieces.

Once it was completely covered, he set the piece in place, and as usual, glue got all over his fingers. Ian touched his finger and thumb together then pulled them apart, feeling the stickiness of the glue.

532. Snorkel Surpise: a relaxation & conclusion of our special celebration story

Alice’s dad gave her a snorkel for her birthday, and today she’s going to snorkel for the very first time!

Narrator: Female

Story Begins: 4:12

Snorkel Surprise Excerpt:

It was a beautiful sunny day on Ahway Island. “Are you excited?” Alice’s mom asked. Alice had just buckled herself into her booster seat in the back seat of the car, but mom wanted to double-check that the seatbelt was fastened properly. Alice raised her arms high so her mom could double-check the belt.

“Of course!” Alice cheered. “I love the beach!”

Alice’s favorite place to visit was the beach. She knew there were a lot of beautiful and colorful fish that lived in the water, but she had never gotten to see them up close before.

528. Book of Music: a calming children’s story

528. Book of Music: a calming children’s story

Ruby June learns another way to share stories when her new friend Henry shows her a special book.

Narrator: Female

Story Begins: 4:04

Book of Music Excerpt:

Ruby June lived in a little house between the library and school on Ahway Island. Her mom, Ms. Guerdy, was a teacher in the Ahway Island primary school. She always brought books home from the library or school for Ruby June to read. Ruby June loved to read. She read as many books as she could get.

Every time she finished a book, she would place it in a stack in her room. After a couple of weeks, she would have a tower of books as tall as she was! Then her mom would take the books back to the library or school and Ruby June would start a new tower.

Ruby June didn’t have many friends, but she loved her mom and her books very much. While Ruby June read many books by herself, she really enjoyed it when Mom would read a new book out loud to her.

Mom was very good at reading stories out loud. She used different voices for different characters and sometimes added sound effects.

Today’s Meditation: Love flows through you in this meditation as you imagine a baby fawn and mama deer.
