Koala Cuisine Excerpt:
It was a sunny summer afternoon on Ahway Island’s animal sanctuary. Kian and Kiera Koala were sitting under their favorite tree, feeling perfectly content. The quiet sanctuary felt like it belonged to them alone, and best of all, they were surrounded by their favorite treats: eucalyptus leaves. They had spent the morning eating the leaves they’d gathered the previous day while perched on a low branch, but now they were eager to add more to their tasty pile.
“Kiera, look at all of our leaves!” Kian said happily. He reached into the pile while Kiera munched on a mouthful of delicious greens. When Kian pulled a leaf free, it was almost the size of his head. He held it with both hands to show the smaller koala just how impressive it was.
