441. Off-Road Adventures: a story and meditation for your bedtime routine

— Javier and Anora join Brian for a hike as he tries out Winfield’s off-road wheels on different terrain.
Narrator: Male

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:52

Off-Road Adventures Excerpt:

Brian loved watching the sun come up in the morning, especially when he felt there was a wonderful day ahead…and that was just about every day! Eager to greet the sun today, Brian and Winfield, his wheelchair, rolled over to the window. Then, gently moving the delicate curtain aside, Brian peered out. Sunlight streamed through the window. Brian took a deep Dragon Breath, in and out, enjoying the warmth. What a beautiful day! Now it was time for breakfast! Brian and Winfield rolled over to the kitchen table to have some breakfast with his mom and dad.

As Brian ate, he gazed at the front door, waiting for a knock. He hoped Javier and Anora would arrive soon. Brian could hardly wait to try a hike in the woods. Now that Winfield had some off-road tires, Brian wanted to explore everything he could. With a full belly, Brian rolled his dishes over to the sink to help his dad and mom clean up. As they washed, dried, and put them away, Brian imagined what it would be like to roll through the woods without a sidewalk anywhere in sight.

439. At Work with Mom: a relaxing kids’ meditation and bedtime story

Owen spends the day with his mom at work and helps return an otter to the sea.

Narrator: Male

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:12

At Work with Mom Excerpt:

A warm glow spilled through Owen’s window as the sun rose. Sensing the time, and eager to get going, Owen hopped out of bed. He zipped over to his closet and grabbed his favorite purple t shirt and a cool pair of pants that would dry fast if the waves splashed him, or it began to rain. Owen wanted to be prepared. He wanted to show everyone his best for his day with mom. All dressed, Owen hurried downstairs to eat breakfast. Mom grinned when she saw Owen. She bubbled with as much excitement as he did for their day together.

As Owen finished his breakfast his mom asked, “Are you ready to go to work with me?”

Owen beamed at his mom and exclaimed, “Yes! Let’s go!”

Owen and his mom walked out the door and headed to the marina. In the distance Owen heard waves rolling onto the shore, seagulls singing their morning greetings, and motorboats rumbling on the sea.

Chance the cozy Cardboard Box wonders what will happen today. Everyday brings a surprise!

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Cozy Cardboard!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Narrator: Male

Cozy Cardboard! Excerpt:

It was dark in the back of the truck where the cardboard box sat, patiently waiting.  Chance was surrounded by oodles of other boxes.  Some had just begun their journey and could hardly contain their excitement.  Others, in the middle of their journey, felt a bit tired and cranky.  Already the cardboard box had been on a two trucks and a plane before being placed on this truck.  It certainly had been along trip.

Now that Chance was reaching the end of his travels, he began to feel excited once again.  The cardboard box felt the truck slow down and stop, as it had many times before.  Then the doors opened and light poured into the truck.  Chance was lifted up and he knew it was time!

The doorbell rang and when the door opened, the cardboard box was sitting on the stoop.  Chance had been on a very long journey, and felt relieved and a little nervous now that his task was almost complete.  What would he do now?  The cardboard box took a deep dragon breath in and out as the person carried him into the house and set him on the table.

Chance looked around, searching for a clue as to what might happen now.  Then he realized he still needed to finish his delivery.  So the cardboard box took another deep dragon breath in and out and put his worries about the future aside.

— Owen spends the day with his dad at work and learns the value of listening and a caring smile.

Narrator: Male

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:40

Dad’s Job Excerpt:

Sunlight slipped through the shades in Owen’s room. As the light sparkled on his pillow, Owen blinked. Then he sat up excitedly. Today was the day! Owen hopped out of bed, practically running to his closet. He grabbed his favorite purple collared shirt and his nicest pair of pants. Owen wanted to look his best for his day with Dad. Now that he was dressed Owen zipped downstairs to have breakfast. Dad grinned, glad to see Owen felt so enthusiastic for their day together. After all, he was just as excited as Owen.

As Owen finished eating his breakfast, Dad asked, “Are you ready to go to work with me?”

Owen beamed at his dad. “I’ve been waiting for this forever! Let’s go!”

With breakfast finished and the dirty dishes washed, it was time to leave for work. Owen and his dad walked out the door and headed to the wellness center. Birds sang, breaking the quiet with a cheerful melody. Owen took a deep dragon breath, in and out, enjoying the fresh air. Then his dad took a deep dragon breath, in and out, and said, “This is such a peaceful morning! I’m so glad we can share this time together, Owen.”

149. Puppy Pick-Up: a story and meditation for your bedtime routine

Pal the Puppy feels bored now that the kids have gone to to school. He waits for a puppy pick-up at the bus stop to find them.

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Puppy Pick-Up” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Narrator: Male

Puppy Pick-Up Excerpt:

The little puppy darted in between and around the boy and girl’s feet as they rushed around the kitchen.  He was happy they were up and about on this beautiful morning.

“Watch out, Pal!”  they said.

What Pal didn’t know was why the boy and girl were rushing at all. This was the time of day that the puppy sat at their feet while they ate breakfast.  Pal would relax as the boy rubbed his ears and the girl scratched his chin.  Today was different.

With a ‘see-you-later’ and not nearly enough petting, the boy and girl walked out of the front door.  The little puppy hoped up onto the couch to look out the window.  Where were they going? Pal barked, trying to get their attention.  The little puppy watched as the boy and girl walked along the sidewalk.  Then the puppy barked so loud he fell backwards into the soft cushions on the couch.  Pal popped back up and thought about the bags he had seen the boy and girl carry.  He realized they were going to school.

147. Racing Sails: a relaxation and story for your nap time routine

147. Racing Sails: a relaxation and story for your nap time routine

Eddie and Luis are out for a sail when they spot some friends in another boat. It’s time for the racing sails!

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Racing Sails” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Narrator: Male

Racing Sails Excerpt:

“Before you get on, you’ll need these,” their dad said, handing them life vests. Luis took one and handed it to Eddie, then they both put them on and carefully climbed aboard. The boat rocked a little as each boy stepped on. They found a spot to sit and watched as their mom and dad worked together to move Sandy out of the harbor.

Soon they were out on the lake and the boys helped raise the sails by pulling on the lines their mom handed them. Once the main sail was up and filled with wind, Sandy began to tilt. Luis giggled a little. This was his favorite part.  As the wind tugged at the sail, Luis and Eddie’s mom noticed another sailboat further out on the lake and said, “Look, there’s another boat! Let’s race!”

Their dad smiled and set their sailboat up to try to catch the other boat. They zipped across the waves, rolling over the crests and splashing down in the valleys. Just as they were about to catch the other sailboat, it turned. Luis and Eddie watched as the bright white sail fluttered, searching for the wind once again.  It found it and billowed out, full and strong.

The sailboat headed towards Sandy, and Luis and Eddie could see two girls waving at them.

“Is that Lisa?”  Luis asked.

“I see Lydia, too!”  Eddie called out.
