Waters of Wonder: a mindful kids’ story

Waters of Wonder: a mindful kids’ story

The spring sun warms the world. Fish bask in the warm rays of the sun, little fish, big fish, and biggest, all relaxing in the waters of wonder.

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story, “Friendly Fish”, Monday and “Love Is..” on Wednesday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again, so now we have “Favorite Friday.” Please enjoy “Waters of Wonder” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 8:49

Narrator: Female

Waters of Wonder Story Excerpt:

The little fish opened her eyes and noticed that now many small fish had joined her.  They had all found their way to the warm sunshine.  Falala smiled, and watched as one by one they relaxed, fins softly hanging in the water.  Falala realized the sunbeam had grown.  It was almost as if the sun was slowly extending the hug to every creature in the lake.  Falala noticed some bigger fish had arrived in the light.  At first, Falala thought she should tell the other small fish so they all could leave.  The little fish watched as the bigger fish relaxed into the sun’s energy, and it didn’t take long for her to realize the bigger fish were just basking in the sun as well.

Today’s Meditation: Deep dragon breaths are a key part of this guided meditation as you relax your body from your toes up to the top of your head.

Love Is…: a soothing bedtime story and relaxation

Love Is…: a soothing bedtime story and relaxation

It’s bedtime and Mia has a question for her mom. She wonders what love is, and how she can share her love with others. Find out what she learns.

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 8:06

Narrator: Female

Love Is Story Excerpt:

“Then Mia asked, “How do you know if someone loves you? I know we say I love you. Are there other ways to know?”

Mia’s mom smiled and said, “If you watch and listen, you can see lots of ways.”

Mia sat up and asked, “How?”

Her mom responded, “People and animals show they care in lots of ways. Kids might invite you to play. A puppy or kitty might wait for you to walk in the door after school. You might see a cat feeding and snuggling with a little duckling along with all her kittens.”

Mia looked puzzled and asked, “A cat would take care of a different animal?”

Mia’s mom nodded. “Yes, that’s part of what makes it love. Doing something for someone, especially when you don’t have to, or when caring for them may even be difficult.”

Meditation Description: Feel your body fill with warmth and love as you send your loving energy to the world.

We’re happy to be part of the KidsListen Pride week, celebrating all families and people. “Love Is…” is our way of saying we are all more alike than different, so let’s show each other how much we care!

Friendly Fish: a calming meditation and children’s tale

Friendly Fish: a calming meditation and children’s tale

Connor is a friendly fish. At his little shop in the coral reef the cleaner fish helps the animals stay clean. Who will show up today?

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:53

Narrator: Male

Friendly Fish Story Excerpt:

“How are you Tanya?” Connor asked as the turtle slowly settled into the calm current.

“I’m doing well, Connor.” Tanya replied. “I do need a little refreshing.”

“You’re in the right place for that.” Connor replied and got busy cleaning. As he zipped around her shell, picking off dull old fragments, he asked. “Where have you been traveling?”

The sea turtle responded “I’ve pretty much been going where the currents take me. I’ve seen kelp forests, and reefs filled with corals of all shapes and colors. And I’ve met a lot of friendly fish.”

Connor smiled as he imagined the kelp and the coral on Tanya’s journey. Before long Tanya’s shell was just as shiny as the day she hatched. “Where will you go next?” He asked.

Meditation Description: Imagine floating in a tranquil pool, safe and relaxed, as the water rocks you gently.

Friendly Flowers and A Bouncing Bumble Bee: a relaxing kids’ story

Friendly Flowers and A Bouncing Bumble Bee: a relaxing kids’ story

The flowers prepare for their friend, a bouncing bumble bee named Bert. Will they be ready for his arrival or will they surprise him?

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story, “Picnic Parade”, Monday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again, so now we have “Favorite Friday.” Please enjoy “Friendly Flowers and a Bouncing Bumble Bee” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:41

Narrator: Male

Friendly Flowers and A Bouncing Bumble Bee Story Excerpt:

“Beautiful morning isn’t it?” Summer the happy yellow flower said.  Summer thought every morning was a beautiful morning.  When it was sunny she enjoyed the light and the warmth, when it was rainy she enjoyed the refreshing water to drink, and when it was windy, Summer enjoyed the feel of the air as it circled her leaves and blossoms.  The yellow snapdragon said the sun made her feel like dancing.

“It sure is.”  Sawyer replied.  “I wonder if Bert will visit today?”  Bert was their friend the bumblebee.  He usually visited them on sunny days.

“I hope so.”  Summer said. “He always makes me laugh, the way he bounces around off of the flowers and grass.”  She began to giggle at the thought.

“I don’t know.” Sidney the purple snapdragon jumped into the conversation.  “Bert always seems to bounce off of me.  I better soak in some more sunshine so he doesn’t knock me over.”

Sawyer and Summer laughed.  “You’ll be fine Sidney.”  Sawyer said, “You always are.”  Sidney did tend to worry about things.   Sawyer and Summer helped him settle down when he needed help.  All three snapdragons were relaxing in the sunlight when they heard a Bzzzzzzz in the distance.  The sound grew louder and louder.  “Here comes Bert.”  Sawyer said as Sidney took a deep breath, in and out (deep breath) trying to relax.

Picnic Parade: a relaxing kids’ meditation and bedtime story

Picnic Parade: a relaxing kids’ meditation and bedtime story

Celebrate International Picnic Day with this story. Ada the ant leads her friends in a picnic parade to a basket filled with goodies. The ants carry their own picnic back home.

Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 6:43
Narrator: Female

Picnic Parade Story Excerpt:

Ada’s job was to scout out good sources of food. So, where should she go today? The little ant decided to follow the cloud. Maybe she would find something new. The little ant trotted across the forest floor over rocks, under logs, and around trees, until she came to a grassy plain. There was something new there. Ada tiptoed cautiously onto a soft red square. Then the little ant stepped onto the white square next to it. The white square was just as soft as the red square. The checkered cloth extended in front of Ada all the way under a large basket. Ada wondered what was inside.

Meditation Description: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.
