Sadie’s Sandy Day Excerpt:
It was a beautiful, sunny day on Ahway Island. Seagulls flew gracefully just above the blue waters as the wind gently pushed and pulled the waves. There was a gentle whoosh sound every time the waves moved back and forth. The ocean world of Ahway Island seemed extra lively and joyful today.
Below the waves, there were many fish swimming around the inky expanse of waters. Most of the fish were eagerly swimming and chatting with friends…but not Sadie Seahorse. Sadie was swimming close to the seafloor, near the kelp and sand. Sadie didn’t want to go anywhere farther out than that today. She felt safe and secure near the sand.
Recently, Sadie realized she felt quite uncomfortable if she was around too many other fish too often. Lots of fish were fast swimmers, lots of fish were loud, and lots of fish wanted to talk to everyone. Sadie would start to feel nervous around these fish if she was around them very long. More and more, Sadie tried to stay close to the sand and away from the crowded open waters. She called the sand her ‘safety sand.’
Today’s Meditation: Enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.
